VAN WERT COUNTY, Ohio – The Van Wert County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is gathering donations for a family whose home was destroyed in a fire on Thursday.
The Van Wert County CERT reports that the house fire occurred Thursday night on Stripe Road in Van Wert. Both the Van Wert County CERT and the Scott Fire Department worked for over three hours to bring the fire under control.
According to the Van Wert County CERT, the house is a total loss, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
To assist the affected family, the Van Wert County CERT is now accepting donations of clothing, appliances, furniture, and money.
The following clothing items are needed:
- Men’s Pants (Size 34″ x 32″ and 34″ x 36″)
- Women’s Pants (Size 0, 8-10, and 14-16)
- Men’s Shirts (Size XL)
- Women’s Shirts (Size M and XL)
- Men’s Footwear (Size 10 and 11)
- Women’s Footwear (Size 7.5, 9, and 10)
