Two Major Drug Busts on I-70: Ohio Law Enforcement Nets Record Meth and Cash Seizures

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two significant drug seizures along Interstate 70 in central Ohio are believed to be among the largest ever recorded in the state’s history.

In a span of four days, a state drug task force and the Ohio State Highway Patrol collaborated on two major drug busts.

On August 3, task force agents and troopers stopped a commercial vehicle on I-70 in Madison County, uncovering 300 pounds of methamphetamine, 17.6 pounds of cocaine, and 30 pounds of marijuana. The street value of these drugs is estimated at $14.6 million.

Just days later, on August 6, authorities pulled over another commercial vehicle on I-70 in Clark County, seizing over $935,000 in cash.

The Attorney General’s Office noted that these methamphetamine and cash seizures are believed to be among the largest in the state. For comparison, drug task forces seized 349 pounds of methamphetamine in all of 2023.
